You’ve heard about the artist trading card rage – the little cards currently being swapped all over the world. Now you can learn to create them yourself in this fun, interactive workshop. You’ll make 5 heart-themed cards and trade 4 of them with your classmates. You will also decorate a carry-all card container. Basic supplies will be provided, but you may wish to bring self-selected tiny photos (under 2 inches), small-patterned paper, lace, buttons or other embellishments to enhance your cards. The Field Museum is currently hosting a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition spanning more than 5000 years of Greek culture from its Neolithic origins to its expansion into Asia and Africa under Alexander the Great. Drawn from the collections of 23 Greek museums, it is the largest exhibition on the ancient Greeks in North America in over two decades. Art historian Jeff Mishur will discuss a selection of objects from this exhibition and world-famous ancient Greek sculpture, gold objects, jewelry and ceramics. Through a humorous presentation, Marc Lazar will demonstrate what not to do at work, and discuss strategies to improve your chances of finding and keeping a job. This program is for adults who do not need to be accompanied by a parent or aide.

Marc Lazar, M.S., has been working with individuals with high-functioning autism in high schools, colleges and the workplace for more than 10 years. He is currently an autism specialist at Aspiritech, a non-profit program in Highland Park that provides training and employment in the field of software testing.
